Prayer is our communication with God its where we go to God with our concerns, our desires, our gratitude, and our cares. Its where we talk and listen to God.
Have you ever prayed and felt like does God hear my prayer? Have you ever felt like I'm not sure if I'm praying correctly? Well here are four keys to effective prayer.
Hebrews 4:16 says, So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most. The Word of God tells us to be BOLD in our prayers. That simply says come to God knowing who He is and knowing who you are in Him. Don't be afraid to ask God for what your heart truly desires we serve a BIG GOD who can do exceedingly and abundantly above all we can ask or think.
Habbukuk 2:2 says write the vision and make it plain. A lot of times we pray to God asking Iim to give us the house, the job, or the car and we are not specific enough as to what kind of house, what kind of job, or even what type of car. I knew this woman who was believing God for a job and she prayed and asked God just to get her a higher paying job. Well her prayers were answered with this higher paying job but after a few short weeks she realized that job was not the job for her. It is always important to be specific when you pray.
#3 Know That it is Already Done
Hebrews 11:1 says now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. At times people tend to forget that faith is NOW, its the present. Its not something off in the future that we have to wait for faith is now. We have to know that when we pray that what we asked for is already done. All we have to do is receive and believe it to be done.
When we give something to God we have to take our hands off it. I'm sure you have heard the phrase "Let go and let God", well that's what we need to do after we have submitted our prayers to God. Surrendering says God I give this thing to you I take my hands off of it and allow you to be God. When we surrender we have to let go of the who, what, when, where, why, and how.
